Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Master's level Practitioner

Requirements:

LCSW's will conduct individual, group, family, and group/skills classes. Ideal applicants should have experience treating eating, anxiety/OCD, mood, and/or personality disorders (specifically Borderline Personality Disorder). The position is ideal for applicants with intermediate to advanced knowledge of CBT, exposure-based techniques, and DBT. Applicants interested in the DBT program would have demonstrated experience being part of an adherent DBT treatment team which includes individual therapy, skills class, phone coaching, and consultation teams. Licensed Psychologist

Requirements:

Psychologists will conduct individual, group, family, and group/skills classes. Applicants should have ample experience treating eating, anxiety/OCD, mood, and personality disorders (specifically Borderline Personality Disorder). The position is ideal for applicants with intermediate to advanced knowledge of CBT, exposure-based techniques, and DBT used int he treatment of anxiety, eating, and personality disorders. Applicants would have demonstrated experience being part of an adherent DBT treatment team which includes individual therapy, skills class, phone coaching, and consultation teams. Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an APA-accredited program in clinical psychology. Please identify your ability to work with child, adolescent, or adult populations.  See our brochure for further information. 

Psychiatrist

Requirements:

Provides a full range of psychiatric services to adolescent and adult outpatient behavioral health patients predominately diagnosed with eating and anxiety disorders. Completes initial assessment and evaluation of patients and provides ongoing monitoring of patient's behavioral health/medical condition(s) and provides treatment. Orders prescription medications and diagnostic procedures as needed. Creates a plan of care tailored to the individual which may include a medication prescription with follow up appointments and/or a referral to one of our mental health or dietary staff/programs. Responsible to provide psychiatric services as required and within the standards of professional psychiatric and medical care. Provides clinical consultation to multidisciplinary team. Responsible to attend multidisciplinary meeting with staff. Psychiatrist will report to the Clinical Director. Completion of an appropriate residency program required. Completion of Medical Doctorate required. Must hold current, active license to practice medicine in Virginia.

 

Training (Internships, Externships, Postdoctoral Fellowships)

Clinical Practicum / Externship

Potomac Behavioral Solutions offers clinical externship opportunities for students that are in a doctoral program. Minimum amount of time required to be considered is 9-12 months, often starting at either the beginning of summer or fall of the academic year. Applicants should have beginner level knowledge and/or training and a desire to further learn about DBT, Eating Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, or disorders where emotion dysregulation is the primary symptom.

Students should be from an APA accredited program in psychology. Please note we only accept (PhD or PsyD) students.

Clinical Internship

Potomac Behavioral Solutions is a member of the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC). Our member code number is MC#2504.

Postdoctoral Fellowship

This position is ideally suited for candidates with a Ph.D or PsyD. in clinical psychology who graduated from an APA accredited program. An ideal applicant will have excellent clinical skills and research interests. 

Postdoctoral clinicians will have an opportunity to conduct individual, group, and family therapy. Applicants should have ample experience treating anxiety/OCD, mood, and personality disorders (specifically Borderline Personality Disorder).  There is a strong preference for individuals who have prior training/clinical experience in using evidence-based practices, especially in the areas of DBT, CBT-E, and exposure-based protocols.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. The position start date is flexible.
